There are different factors that guide us in our work, that create the environment for us to succeed and want to succeed. Strategy, Culture, and Structure are three such factors; they guide the direction in which we are heading, our motivation to do so, and our ability to achieve what we set out to do. As a manager, we may have limited control over these factors at an organizational level, but there is something that we can do within our teams. Strategy and Structure are important in making sure that we can achieve the right task, but Culture really has an impact on the motivation of our team. Culture can really be a defining factor in terms of success. After all, a company with a good culture but mediocre strategy and structure may well be able to achieve more than a company with an awful culture but an excellent strategy.
