The atmosphere in which a coaching conversation takes place is important. It should come from a developmental perspective, that we want to help the person being coached come up with a solution to their problem. It s also a trust-based conversation, where the person being coached can show their insecurities about relevant issues without being judged as incompetent on unskilled. When it comes to active listening, it's about showing our engagement and interest in the other person, and this isn’t done through words alone.
