In teams, there are many rules of the game. What should be done, by whom, and how. These rules may be formal in nature, such as formal work practices or rules. Many, however, are informal. They may take the form of principles, guiding judgments or desired attitudes, or even the norms of how we work. All of them guide us in how we work together. The challenge is whether these various rules that direct the team and the individuals within it are actually providing the guidance that they are supposed to.
