There can be a multitude of causes of conflict erupting in a team; they can be business-related, evolve out of personal disagreements, or occur as a result of a simple misunderstanding. Irrespective of their cause, conflicts can be equally
serious and have a detrimental impact on the team and its performance. However, it is useful to be able to determine the cause, because whilst a conflict may still require mediation, there may be additional action on the part of the manager to lessen the likelihood of it re-occurring.
